Habitat selection of the salt marsh harvest mouse and sympatric rodent species

Article Abstract:

Interspecific habitat use within a salt marsh small mammal assemblage on Mare Island, Solano County, California USA from 1989 to 1992 was evaluated with emphasis on the endangered salt marsh harvest mice. It was suggested that reducing habitat patchiness throughout tidal marshes might reduce salt marsh harvest mouse competition with house mice, and restoring tidal action might reduce habitat competition with voles.

Possible generational effects of habitat degradation on alligator reproduction

Article Abstract:

The reproductive state of the American alligator in Lake Apopka, U.S.A., was studied to identify the causes of population decline. Anthropogenic habitat degradation had caused reproductive impairment of adult females and complete nest failure decreased only after a generation of population decline.

Does management for duck productivity affect songbird nesting success?

Article Abstract:

A study examined whether habitat management for increasing duck productivity influences songbird nesting success. It was observed that duck and songbird nesting success are not correlated and influenced by different factors.
