India's drug tests

Article Abstract:

Multinational companies are planning to launch their clinical trials in India, as the average cost in India is low and take the advantage of its population resource and the increasing number of illness to find cures. The consultancy firm McKinsey estimates that US and Europe based pharmaceutical companies would spend US$1.5 billion per year on clinical trials in India by the year 2010.

Animal-rights militancy exported to US and Europe

Article Abstract:

Illegal tactics of extreme UK animal-rights groups are being adopted by US and European activists with law enforcers admitting that there is an increase in extremist activity on mainland Europe directly related to that in UK. Better policing and tough laws have seen UK activity shift abroad with major UK activist groups having active branches in US and other European countries.

Some of the drug companies of the United States have relocated their administrative tasks, including payroll and computer support overseas, especially in India. These drug companies are outsourcing work as it is much cheaper and it helps them to cut down on their cost.
