Kwita Izina: to give a name

Article Abstract:

Rwanda known as a very good ecotourism destination, about 40$ million of the country's revenues is generated from it. As part of an effort to move forward from in a post-genocide era, on June 30, 2007, at the Volacanoes National Park, twenty-three mountain gorillas born in the park were named during a ceremony called Kwita Izina (to give a name). Bill Weber, maried to Amy Vedder talks about their experience as conservationists working with gorillas and their appreciation of the celebration.

Arctic showdown

Article Abstract:

Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is under threat by oil companies who want to drill in what conservationists describe as the biological heart of the Alaskan Arctic. On the other hand, the US Congress, dismissed the controversy in a filibuster-proof budget bill that, if passed by the Senate, drilling was authorized, instead of discussing the potential threat to the region's wildlife.

Megaflyover!: Finding the wildest of the wild in Africa

Article Abstract:

A conservationist of the Wildlife Conservation Society's Science and Exploration program embarked on June 5 2004 on an aerial survey across the African continent in an endeavor he dubbed the MegaFlyover. His mission was to discover where wild Africa survives and hence to mobilize action for its conservation.
