Live animal markets heat up
Article Abstract:
The Live Animal Markets Bill drafted by San Jose, CA, Rep Mike Honda will mean a big loss to animal advocates if approved. The proposal simply requires permits for selling of live animals. It does not have any regulations for the humane treatment or slaughtering of animals.

Kosovo's animal casualties
Article Abstract:
The ethnic and political violence in Kosovo, Yugoslavia has not only brought human suffering but also caused the death and injury of thousands of livestock and companion animals. Animal protection organizations are preparing for the rescue of Kosovo's surviving animals.
