Locals rally to combat biodefence labs

Article Abstract:

The development of high-security biodefence laboratories, especially the fully classified facilities of the Department of Homeland Security's National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, are resulting in protests by the local communities. Proposed experiments to create and test biothreat agents by handling deadliest pathogens in the laboratories are creating concerns about the safety and security of communities exposed to great biological hazards.
