Make way for monkeys

Article Abstract:

Scientists have disclosed that the macaque genome is crucial for unraveling the evolutionary events that led to humanity. The new analysis of this genome has found that macaques have many more copies of genes corresponding to those making up the human HLA system, a vital part of the body's defense against diseases.

The authors have investigated fossilized hominid grania from Herto, Middle Awash, Ethiopia. The results of the study provide the evidence on the location, contextual circumstances and timing of Homo sapiens emergence.
