MicroRNA-mediated repression of rolled leaf1 specifies maize leaf polarity

Article Abstract:

MicroRNAs constitute a class of developmental signalling molecules, which are found in regulatory genes in animals and plants. It is shown through an experiment that microRNA 166 constitutes a highly conserved polarizing signal and the expression pattern of this polarizing signal is also mentioned.

Macho-1 encodes a localized mRNA in ascidian eggs that specifies muscle fate during embroyogenesis

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the influence of maternal information on the determination of development within the egg cytoplasm of ascidians. The mechanisms forming the muscles of the tail are discussed.
