Neighbour-stranger discrimination by territorial male bullfrogs (Rana catesbeiana): I. Acoustic basis

Article Abstract:

Bullfrog mating calls are compared across 27 males for variation in different territorial regions. The frequency of vocalizations is found to vary according to neighbor/stranger bullfrog proximity. The results are charted, with statistics on sound characteristics.

Neighbour-stranger discrimination by territorial male bullfrogs (Rana catesbeiana): II. Perceptual basis
