Origins of instability

Article Abstract:

Proteins that repair damaged DNA could produce repeat instability in cells that are not dividing. There are a number of ways in which DNA can be altered that could in the long term produce DNA-repair-dependent repeat instability. It may eventually be possible to find approaches that minimize the lengthening of repeat tracts.

Multiple pathways cooperate in the suppression of genome instability in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the use of genetic analysis to investigate the suppression of genome instability by a minimum of three groups of proteins or pathways in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Mutations of these pathways are discussed.
