Population History, Mating System, and Fitness Variation in a Perennial Herb with a Fragmented Distribution

Article Abstract:

Research on the perennial herb Vincetoxicum hirundinaria in Finland demonstrates the importance of determining whether fragmentation is a result of human disturbance or instead reflects a characteristic distribution pattern of the species when assessing conservation needs.

Effect of Invasive Plant Species on Temperate Wetland Plant Diversity

Article Abstract:

Studies of Ontario wetland areas indicate that preventing the spread of plant community dominants is key to conserving biodiversity regardless of their geographical origin. Data are drawn from abundance comparisons between four invasive and four native species.
