Article Abstract:

A wide range of perspectives are presented on the spiritual aspects of nature conservation, provided by select Nature Conservancy members in different parts of the world. These perspectives include Quaker, Jewish, Muslim, Episcopalian, New Age, Congregationalist, Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, ex-Amish and agnostic. Most share the common themes of responsibility, caring, and respect.

The efforts of Alejandro Hernandez, program manager of The Nature Conservancy in Chiapas, Mexico to conserve watersheds that drain water into rivers and lakes are discussed. The creation of a $2 million conservation fund at the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve is reported.
