The case of the eastern cougar

Article Abstract:

The cougar's home was eastern North America until the colonists arrived. Unfamiliar with the animal, the colonists began a centuries-long effort at its eradication. Logging devastated cougar habitat in the early part of the 20th century and hunters made the white-tailed deer, the animals' favorite prey, almost extinct. Many people are interested in pet cougars and owners may let them loose into the wild once they grow up, when they are no longer so endearing. However, human tolerance will have to increase for the population of wild cougar to build up.

Initial Reaction to TOPP

Article Abstract:

Association of Certified Accountants and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA) are concerned on the English Institute's (ICAEW) Training Outside Public Practice (TOPP). TOPP will have an impact on ICMA. It is a training in one discipline, exam in another and befit for nothing. ICAEW's insistance in 'consistent sponsorship' is difficult in practice. Unilever is one of the companies which has expressed an interest in training accountancy students. They are confident of giving as good a training as any other firm.
