A positive pregnancy test?

Article Abstract:

Large molecular clouds give birth to new stars in interstellar space. The Maddalena cloud is unique because it has not produced a stellar offspring yet. Williams and Blitz concluded that the Maddalena cloud has more large and fewer small clumps than other molecular clouds. When Maddalena reaches full-term, the larger clumps will break into smaller ones, giving them a mass distribution like that of other clouds.
