US extends security clearance for scholars

Article Abstract:

The U.S. government has altered the security checks for visa, which means these checks will be valid for a period of four years. Moreover, the educational groups and scientists are quite glad that this change will benefit them in the sense that they will be in a position to come in and go out of U.S. without much difficulty once the initial check is completed.

Publishers split over response to US trade embargo ruling

Article Abstract:

The US department has ruled that editing or publishing scientific manuscripts from Iran, Libya, Sudan and Cuba violate the trade embargo on these countries. This ruling has made publication by Iranians in journals published in the United States practically possible.
