Working backwards to find answers

Article Abstract:

Research shows that hypothalamic neurons are involved in the production of peptide factors that inhibit or stimulate hormone secretion by the anterior pituitary gland. A new study, using reverse pharmacology, identifies the peptides in rat brain that are responsible for lactation. The study shows that the peptides specifically release prolactin, with the active components being attributed to two peptides of 19 and 29 amino acids in length, referred to as PrRO20 and PrrP31, and with overlapping sequences.

Working double-blind

Article Abstract:

The article focuses on the new survey carried out by the Publishing Research Consortium, which presents the benefits and disadvantages of keeping the name of the authors and referees of a double-blind peer review hidden. The survey reveals that the identification of authors can help the referees in asking more appropriate questions.
