About turn for reversals
Article Abstract:
Data cited to support the theory that geomagnetic reversals tend to follow one of two paths may actually reflect the limited number of locations from which geomagnetists obtain samples. P.L. McFadden and colleagues subjected these data to a stringent statistical evaluation and found evidence of geomagnetic clumping but probably only because the sampling sites are situated 90 degrees from their virtual geomagnetic pole paths. However, these findings may reflect the unreliability of sedimentary geomagnetic data.

Samuel Preston Bayard (1908-1997): an appreciation
Article Abstract:
Samuel Preston Bayard was an avid student and historian of traditional music up to the time of his death in 1997. Folk music was an offshoot of Bayard's keen interest in Irish folklore as a child, the study of which was to continue until the end of his life. Bayard was not only a student of folklore but possessed the technical training of a musicologist. The scholar and professor was to collect songs and tunes by having their sources repeat them until he had transposed the music on note paper.
