Shu-ilishu's cylinder seal
Article Abstract:
A study investigates the personal cylindrical seal of Shu-ilishu, a translator of the Meluhhan language who lived during the Late Akkadian period, in an effort to unravel the mystery of the Indus script. The presence of a translator of the Meluhhan language in Akkad suggests that he may have been literate and could read the undeciphered Indus script, which in turn suggest that there may be bilingual Akkadian/Meluhhan tablets somewhere in Mesopotamia.
