Manufacturers hear the truth
Article Abstract:
Only 2% of British manufacturers can be regarded as being world class, although 42% are within sight of a world-class position, according to an analysis of companies by London Business School (LBS) and IBM Industrial Consultancy. In the benchmarking study, 73% of manufacturing employees and company directors had said that their manufacturing proficiency matched that of their best foreign rivals. The study forms one of a series, and the next study will look at the design and engineering capabilities of firms.
