Fitness components associated with laying date in the cliff swallow
Article Abstract:
Birds show falling prospects of reproductive success as the breeding season advances, but the reason for this remains unresolved in studies of avian life histories. Fitness components linked to breeding time were examined as part of a larger study of clutch size in the colonial Cliff Swallow. The study emphasizes the significance of annual variation in fitness components linked to laying date.

Involvement of MicroRNA in Au-rich element-mediated m-RNA instability
Article Abstract:
Au-rich elements located within the 3' untranslated region of variety of short-lived mRNAs such as cytokines and protooncogenes are the most conspicuous among various cis-acting destabilizing elements identified so far. The microRNA targeting of Au-rich elements appears to be essential step in Au-rich element-mediated mRNA degradation.
