Heterozygosity and biomass production in salix eriocephala
Article Abstract:
Researchers conducted a study to examine the relationship between heterozygosity at 11 variable isoenzyme loci and total above-ground leafless biomass production of four full-sib families of Salix eriocephala. These relationships were examined by comparing the performance of heterozygotes with that of corresponding homozygotes in locus-by-locus comparisons. These approaches indicated that the presence of positive associations between heterozygosity at enzyme loci and biomass production.

Microsatellite polymorphism and genetic impact of restocking in Mediterranean brown trout (Salmo trutta L.)
Article Abstract:
Microsatellite polymorphism and genetic results of restocking Mediterranean brown trout (Salmo trutta L.) with hatchery stocks in the Orb River drainage of France are discussed. Genetic data from three microsatellite loci are considered after two wild populations, that of the main river, restocked yearly, and a tributary, not restocked for 6 years, were sampled.
