Irish deep water ship almost ready

Article Abstract:

Marliona, an Irish deep-water stern trawler that is 32.5 metres long overall and 8.5 metres in the beam, has been built in steel with an aluminium wheelhouse structure and is designed to work deep waters to land fish in ice. Details of the fittings of the ship and its features are presented.

Irish multi - purpose research vessel

Article Abstract:

The Norwegian ship architect Skipsteknisk designed the multi - purpose research vessel Celtic Explorer for the Irish Marine Institute. The vessel is well equipped to carryout trawling, sampling for water and plankton, hydrographic surveying, buoy servicing and acoustic research.

International gear training set to grow

Article Abstract:

Small scale flume tank built by Iceland's Larus Thor Palmason, who is a lecturer, can not only be used for gear development but also for training in fishing gear technology. Plans to develop the tank into a globally used gear training set are presented.
