Claiborne offers a new outfit in Mexx

Article Abstract:

Amy Shecter, vice president and general manager of Liz Claiborne Inc. acquired Mexx-USA, is banking on providing customer intimacy to win over Americans to Mexx, the Amsterdam-based specialty clothing line for men and women. The Mexx expansion is part of a larger push by apparel giant Liz Claiborne to operate its own retail stores, a shift away from its historic role as a producer of apparel sold in specialty and department stores.

Philadelphia developer Bart Blatstein believes that Riverboat gambling is considered to be a very profitable business. As a result, Bally's chief executive Arthur Goldberg agreed to buy Blatstein riverfront property in Pennsylvania to develop it as a riverboat casino.
