Charles Coltman steps down as vice chairman of First Union Corp after 30 years in the banking business. Coltman is credited with helping build CoreStates Financial Corp. which was acquired by First Union last year. After successful integration of the two companies, Coltman was hoping to head a global marketing initiative which was dropped after company streamlining laid off 1400 Pennsylvania Union Corp employees.

Juniper planning online banking
Article Abstract:
Wilmington, PA-based Juniper Financial Corp. has used its $114 million from venture capitalists to hire 200 employees and it plans to begin selling banking, insurance, and investments by Web and wireless before Thanksgiving. The company said it will sell everything at competitive prices without a lot of hidden fees.
