Metal workers Peter Renzetti and Chris Tierney have made a bronze birdcage in which Renzetti drilled 1,383 joints to connect wiring. The cage is 40 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 27 inches in height and would be shipped to the owner of a pet canary in Texas.

H Katz Capital Group owner Harold Katz is presently underwriting the expansion of the weight-loss operation in Horsham, PA, LA Weight Loss Centers. Katz is known for owning the professional basketball team Philadelphia 76ers until 1996 and the Nutri/System firm which closed in 1972. H Katz Capital, a $100 million venture capital company, placed $2 million in the new business and has pledged an additional $3 million. The first investment in February 1997 is responsible for LA Weight Loss' expansion to 128 centers from 43.
