Career management for human resource professionals
Article Abstract:
The increase in demand for human resource (HR) practitioners is increased due to training needs in production, an increase in the aging work force, and advances in technology. This growth is expected to continue until the year 2000. HR practitioners are gaining recognition as vital consultants to corporate decision making in areas such as organizational design, management style, work structures, cultural change programs and strategic planning. They play an important role in achieving operational and strategic goals in business.

What's in a job? Students and new graduates describe their career quests
Article Abstract:
The 1998 Graduating Student and Alumni Survey conducted by the National Assn of Colleges and Employers revealed that some students and new graduates have planned their career development and have sought experience to help further their professional goals. They believed that job satisfaction comes first before monetary rewards. Respondents such as Constance Harrison, Cesar Escurra and Henry Oswald required their jobs to be progressive and to offer opportunities for employees to be creative and be able to utilize their skills.

The nature of work
Article Abstract:
The workplace has become much less restrictive and employees have to be flexible and versatile. They expect better terms and conditions of employment than they did in the Eighties.
