Principles for professional conduct
Article Abstract:
Rules for third party recruiters, namely agencies, organizations, or individuals recruiting part-time, temporary, and full-time candidates are described. Third party recruiters provide employment opportunities not required by themselves. They have to recruit candidates within a professionally accepted procedure. EEO standards must be maintained in the recruitment procedure. Some necessary information must be disclosed by the third-party recruiters to students and career services practitioners.

"It's the law" ...and beyond
Article Abstract:
A balanced interplay of ethical professional conduct and legal obligations is sought in the College Placement Council Inc (CPC)'s Principles for Professional Conduct. The document basicallyespouses five principles, but the focus of controversy is the issue of balancing equal employment opportunity for all and the legal requirements of affirmative action. Whether the ethic of equal opportunity and that of affirmative action can coexist is the abiding dilemma.

NACE marks milestone with professional standards for career services
Article Abstract:
The National Assn for Colleges and Employers (NACE) developed and released a set of standards in 1998 which help members in their career planning and placement. Since 1957, NACE has been committed to providing ethical guidelines for career service practitioners and students, which have assisted in national standards formulation. Members have volunteered in task forces to assess issues which could aid the organization in the future.
