Dynamics of C60 encapsulation into single-wall carbon nanotubes

Article Abstract:

The kinetics and mechanism of C60 encapsulation by single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) using molecular mechanism and dynamics simulation is studied. It is found that encapsulation of C60 adsorbed on the SWNTs rope is more efficient than capture of ballistic C60 molecules from the vapor.

Microstructure and growth model of periodic spindle-unit BN nanotubes by nitriding Fe-B nanoparticles with nitrogen/ammonia mixture

Article Abstract:

Periodic spindle-unit boron nitride (BN) nanotubes are obtained in addition to the regular cylindrical nanotubes. The new BN nanostructure is well characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX).

A facile sulfur vapor assisted reaction method to grow boron nitride nanorings at relative low temperature

Article Abstract:

Boron nitride (BN) nanorings were synthesized using a sulfur vapor assisted solid-state method at 600 degree Celsius. High resolution transmission electron microscopy images proved that the nanorings were formed through the coiling of the (002) planes of hexagonal BN.
