Molecular recognition with DNA nanoswitches: effects of single base mutations on structure
Article Abstract:
The properties of a simple DNA-based nanodevice capable of detecting single base mutations in unlabeled nucleic acid target sequences are examined. The structural differences have shown a structural basis for the observed the fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) differences in the closed configuration, which has underpinned the operation of these devices as biosensors capable of resolving single base mutations.

A pH-tunable nanofluidic diode: Electrochemical rectification in a reconstituted single ion channel
Article Abstract:
pH-dependent electrochemical rectification in a protein ion channel reconstituted on a planar phospholipid membrane is reported. The measurements performed at single-channel level show that the electric current is controlled by the protein fixed charge and it could be tuned by adjusting the local pH.
