Article Abstract:

The electronic and supramolecular characteristics of Bis(ethylenethio) tetrathiafulvalene (BET-TTF) and most related donors are discussed. BET-TTF forms crystalline radical-ion salts with simple monovalent anions of different geometries where the donor forms typical layered donor-anion structures.

Upconversion and anti-Stokes processes with f and d ions in solids

Article Abstract:

The anti-Stokes emissions or upconversion processes which exceed the excitation energies are discussed. It is shown that coupled lanthanide and uranide f ions and transition-metal d ions produce upconversion emissions of the anti-Stokes types under moderate to strong excitation density.
