Chemistry and processes of color photography
Article Abstract:
Color photo development can be achieved through dye-coupled, dye-transfer and dye-bleaching processes, all of which use silver salts in film emulsion. The dye-coupled process is the most widely used in modern times. The dye-transfer method is extensively applied in instant photography while dye-bleaching is popular because the finished pictures prepared through this method are resistant to the degradation of dye on storage. A fourth method which does not utilize silver salts is electronic photography. It is still not widely used but is foreseen to gain popularity in the future.

Aspects of methane chemistry
Article Abstract:
Methane gas is likely to become a major energy source as non-renewable sources such as oil begin to deplete or cause environmental damage and so understanding its chemistry is important. Methane structure and physical properties are presented as they influence the reactivity of methane. Other aspects of methane chemistry include its sigma-complexes, sigma-bond metathesis, electrophilic and superacid reactions, oxidative addition, electrochemistry and steric and shape selectivity effects. The commercial applications of methane chemistry are discussed.

The chemistry of neutron capture therapy
Article Abstract:
Neutron capture therapy (NCT) is a binary system utilized in treating cancer and other conditions characterized by the in situ delivery of high linear energy transfer radiation. Its development has been hindered by the synthesis of compounds having the ability to reach specific tissue targeting. The success of NCT is correlated with the development of neutron absorbing compounds that have the ability to target tumor or other abnormal cells and that support concentrations in cellular and subcellular organelles.
