Lipase-supported synthesis of biologically active compounds
Article Abstract:
The preparation of biologically active materials can be approached by lipase-catalyzed biotransformations exhibiting high enantioselectivity and differentiating between enantiotopic groups and among enantiomers of a racemate. The enatiomeric pure nucleoside analogs from prochiral or racemic building blocks, structural blocks for prostaglandins and its analogs, alkaloids, terpenoids, monosaccharides, cyclitols, antibiotics, beta-adrenergic agents, pheromones, structural blocks for natural pesticides and intermediates related to mevinic acid are obtained by lipase catalyzed steps.

Synthesis and applications of small molecule libraries
Article Abstract:
Small organic molecules are finding wide application in organic chemistry due to their favorable pharmacokinetic properties. A major step in the organic synthesis of these molecules involve the generation of large combinatorial libraries of peptides and oligonucleotides. This review focuses on the synthesis and applications of small molecule libraries. The discussion is limited to library synthesis methods rather than assay results.
