Metal-free methods in the synthesis of macrocyclic Schiff bases
Article Abstract:
An overview describing an approach toward the design and optimization of symmetrical and unsymmetrical macrocyclic Schiff base is presented. The data dealing with the synthesis of macrocyclic azomethines are collected and analyzed under metal-free conditions and it is found that anions of appropriate size and geometry act as template agents in the synthesis of macrocylces containing pyrrole fragments.

Structural biology and chemistry of the terpenoid cyclases
Article Abstract:
An instructive comparison of nine X-ray crystal structures of terpenoid cyclases and catalytic antibody cyclases is required to understand the structural basis for their biosynthetic diversity. The naturally occurring terpenoid synthases in terms of their structural biology, adopt one of the two topologically distinct [alpha]-helical folds, named as the class I and class II terpenoid synthase folds.

Synthesis and reactivity of C-heteroatom-substituted aziridines
Article Abstract:
The article reviews the synthesis and reactivity of C-heteroatom-substituted aziridines, which have heteroatoms on one or both of the carbons of the ring. These compounds serve as precursors for biologically important classes of compoundings.
