Molecular structure and dynamics at liquid-liquid interfaces
Article Abstract:
Molecular structure, electrical properties and dynamics at interfaces of two immiscible liquids have been modeled. An accurate description of this interface in molecular terms is needed for an understanding of solvation and the charge ion transfer processes at the interface. Molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo computer simulations have contributed to the body of knowledge in this area as have experimental results.

On the characteristics of migration of oligomeric DNA in polyacrylamide gels and in free solution
Article Abstract:
This review examines the free-solution electrophoretic mobility of oligomeric DNA in polyacrylamide gels. Research demonstrates that the mobility is governed by counterion condensation theory applicable to the migration of very short DNA fragments. The behavior of the phosphate-labeled DNA fragments and end-labeled DNA fragments in polyacrylamide gels is also discussed.

Ionic effects beyond Poisson-Boltzmann theory
Article Abstract:
Limitations of the Poisson-Boltzman theory in the interpretation of polyelectrolyte properties are discussed. Three models are presented to explain the behavior of the multivalent, asymmetric, and micelle-shaped polyelectrolytes.
