The Chartered Institute of Building's 1995 Building Manager of the Year Award has been won by Ray Carter of Bovis Lelliott. He has been involved with the repair and conservation of Uppark, a 17th century house in West Sussex which was almost destroyed by fire in Aug 1989. The judges were particularly impressed by Carter's management of the wide range of people who have been involved with the restoration work.
