Attendance, sales rise at New York boat show

Sales and attendance at the 90th New York National Boat Show, held at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Jan 2000, were up, according to its producer, the National Marine Manufacturers Assn. There were more than 96,000 attendees, representing a 13% increase from the previous year. Sales were also very strong, according exhibitors. During the show, an announcement was made regarding a new twist for the 91st show in 2001.

Yamaha begins work on Ala. test facility
Article Abstract:
Yamaha Marine Group of Japan has commenced the construction of a new testing center on a 30-acre site along the Tennessee River in Bridgeport, AL. The facility is scheduled for completion in spring of 2000 and will include dry storage facilities, test laboratories, engineering shops, drydocks and an auditorium. The company has appointed Keith Vince to oversee the operations at the new testing center.

Sail Expo attendance, sales strong in New Jersey
Article Abstract:
The Sail Expo held in Atlantic City, NJ, in Jan 2000 saw an upsurge in attendance and sales, according to its producer, Sail America. Aside from an almost 10% increase in the number of exhibitors, sales were reportedly up by 2%. During the show, Sail America elected new members to its board of directors and presented several awards. The show was the first of three Sail Expos scheduled for the year.
