Update: fastener performance
Article Abstract:
Fastener makers have significantly improved the design of roofing fasteners and plates to prevent performance failure in cases such as "backout." Anti-backout plates have been added to enhance performance by equipping the fastener head and resisting fastener movement. Makers have also designed today's fasteners to pre-drill the deck in a different manner so that they bore more securely and grab more tightly on decks.
