D&B shareholder calls for vote on sale
Article Abstract:
Murray Hill, NJ-based Dun and Bradsheet Corp (D&B), a business information company, was urged to hold a special shareholder meeting by its biggest shareholder Harris Associates LP, a Chicago, IL-based investment company. Harris hopes the special meeting will resolve the issue on whether the D&B board of directors should solicit bids for the sale of the company. Aside from being the publisher of the Moody's Investor Service for bond ratings, D&B supplies business information to direct marketers and others.

Bill would cut grants to political list exchangers
Article Abstract:
A bill that calls for withdrawal of federal funding from public broadcasting stations or other federally funded groups that rent or exchange the lists of donors with those of political organizations has been file by Sen Arlen Specter in Sep 1999. The bill S 1650, is also called as the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriation Act. The bill allocates $350 million of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting for FY2002.
