Diplomatic coup
Article Abstract:
The benefits of diplomatic immunity have helped UK construction firms Skanska and Taylor Woodrow overcome the normal difficulties often encountered when undertaking a building project in Russia. Construction of the 80 million pounds sterling British Embassy in Moscow has been monitored by the British Secret Service to ensure the strictest security, while British building standards must also be maintained to the highest degree. One of the main problems to overcome while building in Russia is the severe cold, which can fall to as low as minus 25 celsius.

How big is the trade gap?
Article Abstract:
Cnstruction industry experts believe that industry growth is being strangled by the lack of trained and experienced workers in key fields such as plumbing and electrics. The skills shortage will result in a drop in standards and higher costs, they say. Other industry professionals are less concerned about the situation and believe that negative aspects of the skills shortage will be limited to local areas in the short term.
