Opt-in e-mail - who's the fool?
Article Abstract:
Many electronic mail services who claim to have opt-in programs are not necessarily so. These unscrupulous e-mail marketing companies deceive both customers and advertisers. Customers are deceived into receiving e-mail they do not want, while advertisers are told that the services are opt-in when they are not. Some of these e-mail companies send e-mail to customers, who did not ask for the e-mail and instead have to tell the company to stop sending them e-mail.
