Executive changes come at Lands' End
Article Abstract:
Dodgeville, WI-based Lands' End has named David F. Dyer as successor to Michael J. Smith, who is stepping down after serving the cataloger as president and CEO since December 1994. The management changes also includes the resignation of company vice chairman of sales, William E. Ferry. Dyer assumption of the top post, effective early November 1998, appears to be a reaction to a slight loss posted during the second quarter and several other quarters of slower earnings. The management changes, which surprised the industry and industry watchers, were decided by the company's board of directors.
