Philips-Magnox revises successful ad

Philips-Magnavox, a consumer electronics giant, has rolled out a revised version of a DRTV campaign it launched in 1997 to promote its WebTV Classic Internet terminal to boost revenues of the product. Philips-Magnavox decided to stop airing the infomercial in 1997 after demand for the device went up dramatically and put the company in a situation where it was already scrambling to keep up with orders. The revised version of the infomercial, titled "Metaphors," carries testimonials and no offers. However, price of WebTV Classic Internet, which allows users to surf the Internet via a television set, are drastically reduced to $99 from $199.95.

Fit TV network hires WorldLink as exclusive paid programming sales rep
Article Abstract:
Fit TV, a cable network that provides syndicated and paid programming, has contracted WorldLink, a Los Angeles, CA-based sales organization, to oversee all of its paid programming and direct response spot sales. Under the agreement, WorldLink will handle all selling-related functions such as programming, traffic and sales for Fit TV. Fit TV, which was recently acquired by Fox/Liberty Networks, will be re-launched later in 1998, carrying programming that extends beyond its existing lineup of fitness-oriented shows.
