UK plumbing engineer Jeff Cosby has invented a silencing device to reduce the noise of re-filling water tanks and domestic cisterns. Householders are often kept awake at night because of noisy water tanks, and this gave Cosby the idea to invent something to reduce noise levels. Cosby's idea is to introduce new water below the water line, reducing the sound of splashing which is the main source of water tank noise. Cosby is looking for financial backing for his idea, which he hopes will become an industry standard.
