Article Abstract:
Taylor Woodrow believes that it can significantly improve its performance in construction contracting. Indeed, it aims to boost its contracting turnover to 1 billion pounds sterling, from 579 million pounds sterling in 1997. The company's contracting business plays a valuable role in generating cash flow. It aims to boost margins in contracting, but does not feel that it is appropriate to place too much emphasis on margins. In the UK, it will focus on large clients and highly engineered schemes, believing that this will offer it protection if a recession does emerge.
