S&P frowns on Brunswick stock buyback
Article Abstract:
Brunswick Corp of Lake Forest, IL, announced on Feb 8, 2000 a stock buyback plan that involves the repurchase of $100 million in shares. However, the announcement has brought down the company's rating with the Standard and Poor's 500-Stock Price Index (S and P). S and P said that the stock buyback only slightly improves Brunswick's financial risk since it still does not know the outcome of an antitrust case against it.
