Article Abstract:
Both consultants and contractors signed a committment agreement when work was begun on the National Lottery funded 22 million pounds sterling Milton Keynes Theatre and Gallery development, Milton Keynes, UK. The agreement consists of 12 main points which were designed to assist greater co-operation between parties involved in the construction of the site. No limits: a developer's dream
Article Abstract:
Those involved with designing the Cascades apartment development in Sufferance Wharf, in the Docklands area of London, England, believed that planners would reject the scheme because it had 16 storeys. In fact, planners actually recommended that the building should be increased to 20 storeys, and objections from Tower Hamlets Borough Council were quickly overruled. The permissive approach taken by the London Docklands Development Corp was very refreshing, but planning in general now seems to be shifting away from this approach again.
