Tennessee dealer and Travis battle over name

Austin, TX-based boat retail chain Travis Boats and Motors CFO Michael Perrine announced that it is close to finalizing an out-of-court settlement with Knoxville, TN-based boat dealer Travis Marine. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Travis Marine has claimed that it has sole rights to the Travis name in eastern Tennessee. Travis Marine Gen Mgr Dave Curmi expects the final settlement to enable his dealership to continue using the name Travis Marine, while Travis Boats and Motors' new outlet in Lenoir City, TN, would be renamed the TBC Boating Center and be free to use the Travis name in certain cases.

Article Abstract:
Rybovich Spencer Group has installed a Marine Travelift at its boatyard in West Palm Beach, FL, to further bolster its megayacht capacity. The company spent over 1 million for the equipment's installation, excluding the costs of upgrades to the yard's physical facilites necessary to accomodate the mobile lift. The Marine Travelift, which was built by Sturgeon, WI-based Marine Travelift Inc, is capable of transporting boats up to 150 feet and 300 metric tons.
