The Defense Acquisition Improvement Program: Part 3 Carlucci Initiatives - A Need for Perseverance
Article Abstract:
While there has been some improvement in the Department of Defense (DOD), little has actually been done. The problems have been continuous and will probably always be there. Program stability is important to achieving cost efficiencies. Multiyear contracting is an initiative in place that can help achieve stability. Care must be taken that the drive for multiyear contracting does not result in selecting counter initiative contract types. The initiatives must be regarded as a step in the right direction.
