The write stuff
Article Abstract:
There is little written about the construction industry in books and the industry needs more people working in the industry to write about it. The industry has a rich history, but its oral tradition is fast dying with those who know the stories. It is an exciting industry but its image suffers as the truth has never been told to the public. There is a need for a museum of construction chronicling the past, or a national archive of the people who worked on public and private developments.

Getting off the ground
Article Abstract:
UK construction contractors and project managers could derive considerable benefits from work in China, where construction technology is still a long way behind that of the UK. There are particular opportunities for UK companies which have experience of dealing with fast-track schemes with effective air-conditioning for overseas clients. However, it is important to be aware that there can be complicated bureaucracy associated with establishing a representative office in China.
