Visa, Dun & Bradstreet launch new modeling tools

Credit card company Visa USA of San Francisco, CA, and database firm Dun and Bradstreet Corp of Murray Hill, NJ, has developed two predictive modeling tools for issuers of Visa business credit cards. The new tools are the Visa Business Prescreen Model, which is used to identify small- business prospects with acceptable risk profile, and the Visa Business Response Model, which is used to evaluated applicant risks during the underwriting process. The models can be used in combination with the Visa Business Response Model which was introduced in 1997.

AmEx not Blue over new credit card

American Express has announced its plans to launch a multimedia marketing campaign to promote its new credit card, Blue. The marketing campaign will involve traditional direct mailings and the distribution of digital cards which connect consumers to the company's web site when played in the PC's CD-ROM drives. The company will offer the card at 0% interest rate for the first six months, after which it will charge 9.9% for customers in good standing.
