Worldata obtains ShopAtHome e-mail files

ShopAtHome.com has chosen Worldata/WebConnect as manager of its 19 opt-in e-mail files containing the names of 2.6 million customers who have indicated their shopping preferences. The ShopAtHome Master File offers information on the gender, geography, income and interests of the 2.6- million opt-in consumers while the 18 subfiles are divided by interests. Among them are the Apparel Product Buyers; Auto Accesory Product Buyers; Computer/Electronic Product Buyers; Fitness Product Buyers; Food & Wine Product Buyers; and the Gift Product Buyers.

Stario cuts one-third of full-timers

Stario Inc has eliminated seven full-time positions and demoted three other employees to part-time status in Jan 2001. The move, which reduced the firm's fulltime staff from 30 to 20, is part of the company's effort to cut overall cost of its e-commerce services business. Meanwhile, Santa Clara, CA-based Stario announced the launch of MVC 2.1, a rules-based system that records viewers' acitivity such as transactions, what pages they view, whether they refer friends to the site and whether they call customer service representatives.

Mimeo.com buys more Xeikon printers
Article Abstract:
New York, NY-based online printing service provider Mimeo.com announced in Mar 2000 that it has ordered from Wood Dale, IL-based Xeikon for additional digital color printers to be able to meet the aniticipated increase in demand this year. The Xeikon machines were selected by Mimeo.com mainly because of their Internent capability, high resolution and speed.
